everyday.

this is my little sister molly. she is 6 years old and is the highlight of my day...everyday. i love this picture because she is such a goofball and this is something i see everyday and it just gives me the best feeling in the world. she seriously means the world to me and i dont know what i would do without her. since william eggleston takes photos of everyday life and i took this one because she is part of my everyday life. i blurred the edges and intensified the colors. i also put the sepia effect on. another reason i like this picture is because i wasnt even trying to take my pictures and molly was just being silly like always and i decided to use it. i love how this turned out.

do you think this matches william's style of picture taking?

william eggleston.

the second artist i chose was william eggleston. he ussually takes pictures of everyday life and intensifies the colors. i think it willl be really easy to recreate

taken.

okaaaay, so i know this picture is pretty scary but that s the message i was trying to convey. melanie had some kidnapping photos also. this was in my shed. it was freeeezing. but i lowered the saturation and made the shadows more apparent. i think it turned out well.

what do you think?

happy holidays.

This is my favorite picture. I love it! I blurred the edges and i intensified the colors. I also made the saturation higher. This is supposed to emulate the picture of the girl in the garbage can that Melanie took. I wrapped christmas lights around her to give more of the holiday death look.

melanie pullen.

One of the artists that i am emulating for this project is Melanie Pullen. All of her images are based off vintage crime scenes she took from the Los Angeles Police Department. She was intrigued by the small details and story that each photo told. Se began re-enacting them but "outfitting" each victim. I am going to try to emulate some of Melanie's pictures.

dancing in the streets

both of my pictures have a :"dance" theme to them. the one with the ballerinas is more peaceful then my other photo though. i guess you could say that ballet is more calm then hip-hop. i lowered the ballerinas opacity on the left side and did the same thing to the tu-tu's on the top right and left. it was difficult to cut the tu-tu's just right so they wouldnt have white outlining. another thing that i wanted to do was put only color images onto the backround because the backround is black and white. obvioiusly ballerinas can't dance in the streets but i thought that it looked unique and fun. the largest ballerina is the focal point of this picture because she in the only one in full color and is the first sunjest you lay eyes on. there are definately two images layered. the shrinking ballerinas are behind the largest dancer. the shrinking ballerinas also create movement. they lead your eyes along the side of the city street. do the ballerinas distract from the focal point?

&$@!*$#^&

i meant for this photo to be very busy. in my opinion hip-hop is a very interesting style of dance. theres so many different thins you can do. i lowered the opacity on many of the dancers in this photo. i changed the colors om "sara". the guy in the bottom left corner creates movement to the girl jumping because he is lefting her with her foot.
